A heat detector (or rate-of-rise) monitors temperature by using a single thermistor which provides a voltage output proportional to the external air temperature. It has an open-web casing which enables air to flow freely, measuring the air temperature every two seconds. A microprocessor stores the temperatures, compares them with preset values to determine whether a fixed upper limit has been reached and uses algorithms to determine how fast the temperature is increasing. Fire safety systems equipped with heat detectors offer the following benefits:
- Suitable for applications wheres smoke detectors can not be used.
- Ideal in environments that are dirty or smoky under normal conditions.
- Responds well to fast-burning, flaming fires.
Features
- Operating mode selection (flashing on LED, flashing on remote indicator).
- Optical chamber sensitivity adjustment.
- Bicolour LED for identification after manual activation from the programmer.
- Complete diagnostics, contamination level reading and values measured in real-time.
- Memory of the smoke and temperature levels measured in the five-minute period prior to the last alarm.
- Sensitivity -58°C class (A1R)
